I've got the RD and can't complain, but has anybody riden both or noticed any great benefits of the 75 other than being able to run some bigger chainrings (I managed to find a 48t 100bcd tho).

thanks for any suggestions or help!

rode rd's for a year switched to 75's and have been riding them exclusively for the past three years. bcd is different as you mentioned as well as the bottom bracket taper. also the rd's have the option to place the chain ring on either side be aware which side its on and make sure your chain-line is straight. the real difference is in the quality hold both of them in your hands and youll see the difference

smarter not harder.

RD are road cranks and SG75 are track. I used to ride RD/Messenger and I cant really complain for a crank in that price range. Once I upgraded to SRAM Omnium I Felt the difference! The RD felt like noodles compare to the Omnium. Then I got SG75 and I feel no difference in stiffness between SRAM and 75 except the smoothness of the bottom bracket.
But Sugino RD/Messenger does the job well
